Exfoliation is an important part of skin care. To achieve a healthy and radiant skin, exfoliate regularly. By removing the top layer of dead epidermis cells, you will make your skin appear smoother and less wrinkled. Moreover, since the dead skin will no longer be clogging your pores, exfoliating your skin will also help to prevent blackhead, acne, and other blemishes.
There are many exfoliating products available on the market, for instance facial scrubs. If you prefer, you can make your own exfoliating cleanser with a blend of olive oil, a pinch of sea salt and lemon juice. What's more, the combination is endless! Some would even combine a dab of honey and sea salt, or ground almonds and powdered milk. Be as cheeky as you can, afterall, exfoliating is meant to be enjoyable and rewarding! (Alex always uses olive oil and sea salt to exfoliate his skins before shaving and he is absolutely loving it, no kidding!)
Recently, he bought a tool for my body exfoliation. It looks kind of funny but it is absolutely amazing. You can slip your little hand on one side and the other side (with a rougher surface) is for exfoliation (unfortunately it is only indicated to be used on the body, but not face). I have been using it every second day for nearly one month now and the result is pretty good. I mainly use it to remove dry and scaly skin on my legs before shower and I always moisturise my legs soon after shower. My skin feels smooth and silky after that.
I tried using on my hands but it has removed too much of my hair. So I decided to keep it only for my legs. =)
Other important tips to keep your skin looking younger forever:
1. Protect your skin from damaging sunlight - make a habit to apply 15 minutes before you go out to the sun and always carry a good sunscreen in your bag for re-application.
2. Apply daily or weekly mask to tone and tighten your skin.
3. Drink ample water or even better, have a cup of green tea everyday.
4. Cut back on caffeine, cigarette and alcohol - always remember they are foes nor friends.
5. Eat a balanced diet - include a bowl of raw vegetable salads in every dinner especially tomatoes as they contain lycopene (high in antioxidants) which is essential to keep your skin smooth.
6. Try not to frown - if you can't beat the stress, laugh it off - this is pretty challenging as I am too having a pretty stressful lifestyle at the moment, sleeping or engaging in your favourite activities should take your burden of your shoulder pretty easily. =)
7. Exercise improves blood circulation and stimulate new cell regeneration - jogging is one of the easiest or least costly exercises.
8. Use a good moisturiser to hydrate and plump up your skin cells - absolutely important to treat your skin well, as all living things need water to survive and thrive.
Treat yourself well. Help your skin. Be confident.
All the best!
Warm regards,
Pea
