DIY Revitalising Banana Face Mask

I am slowly moving into my late 20s now but I am feeling positive about this inevitable transition. No one lives forever afterall, sometimes you just have to seize every moment you have, move on and live your life to the fullest (especially when you are still young). 2010 is coming to an end now and my resolution for next year is nothing but to stay healthier, happier and younger with my fiance, Alex.

In this post, I would like to share a homemade remedy which will help to revitalise your skin cells as well as to slow down the aging process using banana (best if ripened), egg white and green tea. As usual, I like feeding my skin using the face mask method, simply because these goodness are absorbed better under the occlusive condition.

It is easy to prepare the mask. To do this, you need one third of a ripe banana, an egg white and a teaspoonful of green tea powder. Begin the process by mashing the banana until creamy, then mix in the egg white and green tea powder. Clean your face with luke warm water and a gentle cleanser, then you can start applying your mask either with your fingers or a make up brush. Your eyes are extremely delicate so please remember to avoid the eye area when applying mask. Rinse your face with luke warm water and cleanser after 10-15 minutes. Your skin should feel tight during the process and even more lifted after the process.

You should also have plenty of the mask left. It can be kept in refrigerator for up to three days (because of the egg white content, I would not recommend to keep for long).

Why banana?

Bananas are rich source of vitamin B and potassium, and are particularly good at softening and hydrating the skin. It also provides anti-aging benefits, keeping the skin young and fresh looking.

Egg white?

Egg whites are full of vitamins and nutrients. It narrow your pores and tighten your skin thus giving your skin an absolute firming sensation.

Green tea?

Green tea is a powerful antioxidant. It slows down the aging process and delays the formation of fine lines and premature wrinkles.

How do I find about the mask?

After the application, my skin definitely feels more supple, tight and firm. It is an incredible mask but not that kind of mask that I will apply on a daily basis (once weekly is perfect in my opinion). For hydrating purpose, yoghurt mask is certainly more convenient to prepare and apply. I am loving it ~~~

Happy new year to you and stay healthy.

Warm regards,
